I know, Valentine’s Day is one of those holidays manufactured by greeting card companies, but I say who cares? I’m all about a holiday full of hearts and love.
I finished up my Heartstrings quilt last week, so we could enjoy it in time for the big day of love. It’s growing on me again, after I had given up hope of liking it.

I love Valentine’s Day. Even when I was single, I still loved it – I love the super cheesy overly stereotypical expressions of love that are only OK one day a year. And that day is today. (I still don’t like roses though.)
Here’s what I’ve been up to:
Making valentines with the girls. They’re not pretty, but they’re made with love.
Making myself a wreath that I totally intended to do a tutorial for, and probably still will, since you could do the same thing with any number of colors.
It’s been pretty cold in my area. Which means we’ve been eating a lot of this soup. That also means that I’ve got a lot of empty canning jars sitting by my sink.
Normally, they would go in a box in the basement until it’s time for canning again next year. Unfortunately, we are still in the process of finishing our basement. Sheetrock is halfway done, our garage is piled high with boxes of stuff, basically, there is nowhere safe to put the empty jars!
So I decided to use them for decoration.
