Lately, I’ve seemed to make life a little too complicated. So I decided to slow it down a little – and introduce a new product!

Really, it does make sense, though it seems it shouldn’t. I know. Introducing: The Simply Stated Polka Dot Dress

Sometimes, one word is all it takes. Sweet, Sassy, Adorable? Maybe a Laugh, Giggle, or Smile?

This adorable dress says everything. And you get to choose what it says. What one word sums up the little girls in your life?

This peasant dress is simple, a solid color accented with polka dots and a word of your choosing sketched in coordinating thread. Currently available in blue, pink, green or red.

{Giveaway}

Do you want to win one? All you need to do is leave a comment here telling me the one word you would have sketched on a dress for a special little girl in your life. I’ll pick a random winner on Saturday the 16th.

Want to know what my husband picked? He saw the word “Sweet” on Kelsey’s dress (that doesn’t show up well in the pictures. I’ll have to try and get new ones), and his first thought was that Lottie’s should say “Dude.”

Really, dude, there’s nothing wrong with that.

And don’t forget the rest of the Launch Day parties going on. Help me support these wonderful people in their new {or improved} businesses! I’ll be featuring a few over the coming days.

This week’s sewing day was a lot more focused than last! In fact, so far I have worked on exactly one thing. But at least I got it finished!

Have you seen Parisville, by Tula Pink? I am in love with this fabric. I just got a bunch of it last week and couldn’t wait to make it into a dress. I knew to hold up to the bold print (especially the cameo) this dress would have to be special.

I think I accomplished that. I love the puffed sleeves – they just scream Spring to me.

And the buttons on the back with the flower and paisley detail are adorable.

The skirt has two layers, the cameo layer splits in the front to reveal the damask dots underneath. And it’s a very full skirt. 80″ of fabric gathered into that 24″ bodice. So much twirly fun to be had.

I used over three yards of fabric for this little one to fit Lottie (3T). If I could spare the ten yards it would take, I would probably make one for myself. Oh well, I will just have to put it on her as much as I can (starting with a photo shoot on Wednesday, I’m sure) and dream of walking in Paris in the Springtime myself…

I know, you’re expecting a new bag, right?

You would be wrong, sir. Lately I’ve been sewing a lot… I know you wouldn’t know that because there’s been nothing on my blog or new etsy shop listings. But really I have been sewing a lot. Mostly clothes. I am having so much fun sewing dresses for my little girls and their cousin!

This is Jane – I made a pattern last night and was able to sew this up today.

Jane Front

This one is made with Joel Dewberry’s Modern Meadow line. I absolutely love his fabric designs.

Jane Ruffle

A little navy ruffle at the bottom to match the collar.

Jane button collar

She hooks with a button in the back (and a second button on the other side, just so she’s not lopsided!)

I’m just loving the basic look of the dress with the graphic fabric. I got all excited to make this last night after reading my sister’s blog. She went to Europe and just got back. Her flight was a little delayed in Atlanta, so she got the chance to see the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library. What does that have to do with this dress? Well, if you live in my brain you logically make the leap from Jimmy Carter to JFK (sister’s favorite president) to his wife. And this style reminds me of her classic style. She had such grace, didn’t she?

I’m linking up to Lucky Linky Tuesday
