Welcome to zipper week! It’s nothing fancy, I haven’t lined up dozens of your favorite bloggers to share their projects, I just made a bunch of stuff using different methods to insert zippers and took pictures along the way. Shall we get started?
Here are a few of the techniques I will cover this week. At the end, if there’s something I missed and you want me to write up directions for you, let me know and I will get it done.
Welt pocket with exposed zipper
Great for pockets in purses, jacket pockets, or maybe pockets in a quiet book.
Invisible zipper
Use this in pillows or skirts.
Basic zipper
Also awesome in pillows and skirts.
Zipper pouch with end tabs
Zipper pouch with flat exposed zipper
So, I’d normally say sit back, relax and enjoy… But instead I’m going to say run out, grab some zippers and make something without fear!!We’ll also have some giveaways throughout the week… and I think they’re pretty good ones.
If you have any questions, just ask. Zippers aren’t scary at all, they just sometimes take a little patience.

This is awesome, since I don’t know how to sew on a zipper–any zipper! I don’t even know how to make something that would require a zipper. I just sew a straight line, and not without a lot of assistance haha

Excellent idea and lessons, I will be a steady visitor. Thank you.
