Our randomly chosen winner is Ivy, who had this to say:
“Well, I am the queen of the seam ripper. I once seam-ripped an entire quilt top because I wasn’t happy with the layout. And I still don’t have a design wall after all that!
I also didn’t quilt at all for seven years. I think that might be the bigger tragedy/disaster.”
I totally agree! As I was reading through the disasters, a recurring theme was that most can be fixed. Fabric can be repurposed, seams can be ripped, and what we are making are memories and objects to be loved, whether they are perfect or not.
So congratulations Ivy, I’ve sent you an email.
And since a post isn’t complete without a picture, I will share this one that my mom took today while we were out at the shop hop. We went to 13 fabric stores in the last three days, all decked out with themes from tv shows past. My mom bought fabric to make her first quilt. My girls collected charm squares. We had a blast spending time together. And that’s what quilting is about.
