Not Quilt Market

I really had the best intentions of editing all my quilt market pics and getting a long overdue post up about my favorites. Not going to happen until at least next week.

Instead, I’ll just point you to my latest adventure:

My friend Amy has an awesome idea. Kind of like Julie & Julia – but with Elizabeth Hartman‘s The Practical Guide To Patchwork.

So, she’s going to work her way through all the quilts in the book, in order. And since I have that book and love the great patterns and instructions in it, I’m going to join her. First up is Fenced In. I’m thinking some of my Innocent Crush. Or maybe Soul Blossoms?

Awesome! I would love to do that with a quilting book.
I saw that someone is doing it with Camille Roskelly’s book, Simplify — http://prettybyhand.com/

Simplify is still on my wishlist. I’ll have to look into her progress.

I think you’re right. Innocent Crush has a lot of prints that will look great cut into strips. I probably won’t get to cutting into it until next week – but starting next week it is time to sew for me for fun!

That is a great idea, how fun! I’m excited to see your pics from Market – I couldn’t believe that I only had ONE of you and I together. I’ll have to steal one of your’s :) .
p.s. I hope your surgery went okay!

That is a great idea. I kinda feel like I am doing that with simplify. I am working on my second one from that book, but have the supplies for a third one. I too would love to do that with the same book as you. I love almost all the quilts in that book.
