I love Valentine’s Day. Even when I was single, I still loved it – I love the super cheesy overly stereotypical expressions of love that are only OK one day a year. And that day is today. (I still don’t like roses though.)
Here’s what I’ve been up to:
Making valentines with the girls. They’re not pretty, but they’re made with love.
Making myself a wreath that I totally intended to do a tutorial for, and probably still will, since you could do the same thing with any number of colors.
Getting my Valentine’s quilt top done, but not getting it quilted because I ran out of batting and can’t go get more until pay day.
Receiving a wonderful new Lisa Leonard necklace from my hubby.
Giving him a barrel of monkeys (seriously, I can never win on the Valentine’s Day present contest).
Alright, I really got him a giant sack full of randomness, and I thought it was pretty awesome. It was topped off with this license plate cover:
Which will go on our new {used} car!
Brad’s old Corolla finally gave up the ghost last week. Truth be told, it was probably one of the worst weeks we’ve had around here in a very long time – it included illness (me), a dead car (Brad), a lost passport (Brad), and a missed trip to Barcelona (Brad). He was supposed to go on Saturday, but had to cancel at the last minute due to the passport issue. I told him to look on the bright side – at noon on Saturday when the flight he was supposed to be on was taking off, we were signing the papers on the car. So, instead of a trip to Spain, he got a car payment! Somewhere in there lies a bright side, right? We got a Mazda5, which wasn’t even on the list we took with us of cars to look at. But the second I sat in it, I knew I wanted it to be mine. And now it is. Well, technically it’s the bank’s, but I get to drive it.
Hope you and yours have a great Valentine’s Day!
