It’s been a while. We went on vacation, and I’ve been crazy busy since we got back.
I did manage to get my girls outfitted for Halloween. Lottie insisted she wanted to be Perry the Platypus, from Phineas & Ferb. She loves him. She cries when he is sad. She claps and jumps up and down when he is happy.
So here’s what I came up with for Perry:
Blue fleece pants and a fleece jacket (after all, we did have snow a few days before Halloween). A swingin’ fedora. And of course, a platypus tail. I made shoe covers and a beak as well, but she wouldn’t leave them on.
(That one’s a little fuzzy. She was not holding still for anything!) She’s a platypus on a mission.
And our little Kelsey-bug was (of course) a lady bug.
It was pretty cold on Saturday night when we went trick-or-treating, so we had to bundle her up. She’s got layers beneath her cute bug outfit, and luckily I found a hat for her. Uncle Patrick was nice enough to take her out trick-or-treating while Brad helped Lottie and Katie helped adorable Liam in his gorilla outfit (and somehow I didn’t manage to get a picture of Liam… oops).
Once they got back from begging for candy in the rain, we settled in for some pumpkin chowder, crazy awesome focaccia, and hot chocolate. I’ll have recipes coming up for my soup and bread. Yummy and perfect for fall.
