You’ve all had them, right? One of THOSE days?

Well, today was definitely not one of those days. Last Monday I had one of THOSE days. I really gave up after a few things went awry … I sat on the couch, I watched a lot of recorded TV shows, and I did basically nothing. Towards the end of the day I finally pulled out Kelsey’s quilt and finished the binding. Yeah. One of THOSE days.

This week, I was not going to let that happen again. I got so much done! Here are some sneak peaks:

I found this late yesterday afternoon. Heidi and Bobbi throw this party together to encourage us to finish up some serious sewing on a Friday night. How fun to know that you are sewing hard all night while a bunch of other women do the same. I immediately joined, after all, I was planning on sewing anyway! All evening and after the kiddos’ bedtime.

That was the plan anyway.

Then Katie called and needed someone to watch my adorable nephew Liam for the evening while she was on a photo shoot. And what kind of a small business-woman would I be if I didn’t help out another?

The Busy Bean’s children’s clothing line!

Remember all of these? Well, I’m getting ready to list clothing in my shop now! I started with this favorite of Lottie’s. She gets all excited for her “Mi-ee-mouse” dress.

She loves her Mickey Mouse! I love that she can wear something Mickey without it being so obvious!

A little reverse-applique Mickey detail keeps it subtle, but she sure knows he’s there.

This is what it looks like outside my office window right now.

I would rather be curled up in front of the fireplace with a blanket and a good book.

Now I need a good book… Any suggestions?

Once upon a time, I am working on the website. If it’s going crazy while you’re looking around, please forgive me.

You know that saying, “You can never go home again?” Well I went home this weekend. And this is what it looked like:

setting up

This is my husband and I setting up my booth at Midvale’s Harvest Days. I grew up in Midvale, and I attended Harvest Days every year. We went to the activities… Bingo in the Park… the parade… the festival booths before fireworks… the Miss Midvale Pageant. In fact, I was Miss Midvale 2001. Yup, are you ready for this flashback?

Let me introduce you to a good friend of mine, and a great cook. Kristyn is one of those people I have stolen a few recipes from. She blogs over at pretty kitten, and I’m pleased to have her here to share a Christmas recipe with you.

Christmas Dinner: Balsamic Roasted Pork with Roasted Root Vegetables

Hi everyone! My name is Kristyn. I head up a blog called pretty kitten, where I write about real-life recipes and other kitchen wizardry. I was thrilled when Colleen asked me to do a guest post for her during her Christmas in July series. Well… it’s August now, but the Christmas-in-July spirit remains and I have a fantastic, simple recipe to share with you.
